Why Choose Quartzite?
Luxury without compromise
Harder Than Granite
Quartzite is a metamorphic rock that is extremely hard and durable.
Looks Like Marble
Get the elegant look of marble with the strength of granite.
UV Resistant
Perfect for outdoor kitchens as it does not fade in sunlight.
Born from Sand, Forged in Fire
Quartzite started its life as simple sandstone. Over millions of years, tectonic forces buried it deep underground where intense heat and pressure fused the sand grains together into a solid, interlocking quartz mosaic. This process, called metamorphism, creates a stone that is harder than glass.

Heat & Pressure
Sandstone recrystallizes into Quartzite
Crystalline Structure
The sand grains fuse so tightly that they break through the grains rather than around them. This gives quartzite a glassy, sparkling appearance.
UV Resistant
Unlike manufactured quartz, quartzite is 100% natural mineral and naturally resistant to UV rays, making it perfect for outdoor kitchens.
Translucency
Some quartzites, like Cristallo, are semi-translucent. You can backlight them (LEDs) for a breathtaking, glowing countertop effect.
Exotic Origins
Quartzite is found in mountainous regions where continents have collided. We source our premium slabs directly from the most exclusive quarries.
Brazil
Crystal ClearThe primary source for translucent, crystal-like quartzite (e.g., Cristallo, Taj Mahal). Known for soft veining and extreme hardness.
Italy
Classic VeiningOffers quartzites with more subtle, marble-like gray veining but with superior durability compared to Carrara marble.
Africa
Exotic ColorsSource of some brilliantly colored and dramatically patterned quartzite slabs suitable for statement pieces.
Harder Than Granite
Quartzite sits at a 7-8 on the Mohs scale. This means it is harder than almost any other natural stone, including granite. It will not scratch from knife blades or glass.
Performance vs. Look
Marble Look, Granite Life
Quartzite is the "holy grail" for many designers because it looks like high-end marble (white, grey, veining) but doesn't etch or scratch like marble does.
Heat Proof
Like granite, Quartzite is born of heat. You can put hot pans directly on the surface without worry.
Sealing Required
It is a natural stone and has some porosity. Deluxe Art Stone applies a 15-year sealant to ensure it remains stain-resistant for years to come.
